    From Negotiations report May, 2006

The union met with this employer on May 11 & 12, 2006.  A number of contract language issues have been resolved however a number of monetary issues are still outstanding with only a small wage increase proposed by the company.

We hope to have further meetings prior to July 1.

    From Negotiations report April, 2006

We commenced negotiations with this unit on March 20 to 22, 2006, and have further dates set for May 11 and 12, 2006.  Some housekeeping issues have been resolved, however the employer is attempting to take away some of the statutory holidays the employees have and reclassify them as floating holidays which have been difficult for the employees to schedule in the past.  The employer has indicated that they would like to move to twelve-hour shifts.  For employees, particularly drivers who do a lot of lifting, this would become a difficult work situation.

    From Negotiations report January, 2006

Notice to negotiate has been served to this employer, proposals are being gathered and committees selected.  Bargaining will commence in the upcoming weeks.
