Members at this unit have reached a new three-year Collective Agreement with each member receiving a wage increase of 4% retroactive to January 1, 2008, and further increases of 4% and 4.5% on January 1, 2009 and 2010.
In addition to the wage increases, other highlights of this agreement include:
Language has been written into the Agreement improving vacation scheduling and clarifying when relief pay starts.
The new Family Day holiday was included in the Statutory Holiday article.
The amount of sick pay paid out to employees in the event of termination of employment increased from a maximum of one month, to two months of pay.
With mutual agreement, members will now be able to trade EDOs in the same week.
Vision care benefits increase from a maximum of $200 to $250 every 24 months.
The annual loan interest rebate increases from $400 to $500.
Each member will also receive a $750 signing bonus within four weeks of ratification.

This Agreement will expire within the next few months. Members will receive requests for, and submit their bargaining proposals; a meeting will also be held to select Negotiation Committee members.
